The Company

Forwarding company J. Dahmen & Co. (JDC) was founded in 1900 by Mr. Josef Phillipp Dahmen in Solingen. As one of the first forwarders at all, we created regular traffic lines to the NorthSeaports in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.
Today, we are a medium-sized enterprise with more than 70 employees. We operate as a full-service provider in forwarding and logistics on domestic, as well as on international level.

To be able to offer our customers even in future market- and performance-driven quality standards, JDC regularly educates forwarding merchants by theirself.

By use of continuing training, our employees always stay at eye level with the requirements, which arise from ongoing globalisation.
We operate exclusively in accordance with the latest version of the Allgemeine Deutsche Spediteurbedingung - ADSp (German Forwarder's General Terms and Conditions of Trading). These limit in paragraph 23 ADSp the legal iability for damage to goods in the case of damage to goods whilst in the care of a forwarder to € 5,--/kg, in accordance with §431 of the German Commercial Code (HGB); in the case of multimodal transports, including sea transport to 2 SDR (special drawing rights)/kg plus, in addition, per damage or event to € 1 Million or € 2 Millions respectively, or 2 SDR/kg whichever is greater. Paragraph 27 ADSp does not constitue an agreement for alternative maximum liability sums concerning article 25 of the Montral Convention.

Place of fulfilment and jurisdiction is Solingen. Within groupage cargo, the additional recommended conditions of Bundesverband Spedition und Logistik e.V. Bonn take place. Limited partnership based in Solingen, registration court Wuppertal, HRA 19692. Our general terms and conditions of PSD / PSD Sky can be found here.
